Since I have recently graduated from the University of Oregon, I find myself with some free time while I search for jobs. I have trouble letting my spare time go to waste, so I have taken a new interest in projects. Pinterest has made me feel so motivated to try new projects and express my creativity beyond writing. My most recent project was making my own maxi-skirt. Not bad for a first timer. Practice makes perfect. :)

Life moves forward, not backwards. I find myself thinking a lot about the past lately. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. However, sometimes I question how different life would be if I would have done things differently, but then I come back to the present and realize I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it weren’t for my past experiences. I continue to grow stronger, happier and more determined everyday.

A few times I year I reflect on who I am, and who I want to be as a person. All my life I have always cared too much about what others thought of me.
I have come to decide, that what other people think of me doesn’t matter. I am mad it took me so long to realize this. Maybe it had to take me being comfortable in my own body before I could accept who I am as an individual. I am unique. I am not like anyone else, there for I am special. If I am not smart, fun, pretty, tan, skinny enough for you… then you aren’t the kind of person I want in my life in the first place. I am amazing, and I deserve nothing less than to surround myself with other amazing people who think the same of me. :) I am nothing less than great.

Claude Kelly
My absolute favorite R&B artist, I listen to a handful of his songs on repeat. Never encountered an artist that expresses exactly what I am feeling, so realistically. Claude Kelly is unique in the way that he writes some of his lyrics from a girls point of view. He writes what it feels like to be in relationships in general. I have never been so touched by lyrics in my life. He shows that he understands and respects women, which makes me respect him as an artist and a human being. I think he needs to be recognized as a great artist, and he deserves recognition as an artist himself, not just as a song writer.
“More than anything, my mom taught me how to respect women. I try to treat everybody – women especially – with a great amount of respect. I found that the more respect you give, the more respect you get. Also, take pride in what you do no matter how small it is.” -Claude Kelly
His songwriting credits include: “My Life Would Suck Without You” (Kelly Clarkson), “Party in the USA” (Miley Cyrus), “Forgive Me” (Leona Lewis), “Blame It On Me” (Chrisette Michele), “Like I Never Left” (Whitney Houston), and “Circus” (Britney Spears), (“Blame It On Me”), R. Kelly (“Like I Do” and “Echo”), Jason DeRulo (“In My Head”), Backstreet Boys (“If I Knew Then”) and Melanie Fiona (“Priceless”).
“They say music is the world’s biggest, most common language. When everything is in sync perfectly – the rhythm, the drums, the melody, the voice – no matter what language it’s in, no matter what country it’s in, the feeling you get when you relate to a song is the same. Everybody knows that feeling. It’s those goose bumps up your arms and at the back of your neck. “Oh my God, I’ve been through that,” or “I feel her pain,” or “I feel his pain,” or “I’m feeling love.” That’s what everybody relates to the music. It doesn’t matter whether it’s country or rock or R&B or hip-hop.” -Claude Kelly

This is me. I am real. I have feelings. I love, I hate, I like, I dislike.
“I do my thing and
you do your thing.
I am not in this world
to live up to your expectations, &
you are not in this world
to live up to mine.”
